As many as 39,967 people had died in Moldova last year, according to the National Bureau of Statistics. Yet, the figure does not include the data for last December as they are being processed. At the same time, in 11 months last year there were born 37,231 children. The death rate rose, while the birth rate fell, Tatiana Botnari, senior specialist of the National Bureau of Statistics, has told Info-Prim Neo. A number of 38,060 persons had died in January-November 2009, by about 2,000 people fewer compared with the corresponding period last year. The number of newborn babies decreased by 632.
