In several months of the publication in the Official Gazette of the new law on sewerage and water supply services, which allows apartment owners to sign individual contracts, the dwellers of 35 Chisinau apartment buildings expressed readiness to sign such contracts. Thus, 3,850 individual contracts will be signed with these dwellers, IPN reports.

According to a communiqué of the public utility SA “Apa-Canal Chisinau”, the apartment owners who want to sign individual contacts for the supply of water must pay all the debts for drinking water and sewerage services, bring the water and sewerage networks into a normal functioning state and sign contracts for transferring them to the operator for service and utilization.

The Chisinau water supplier says that when individual contracts are signed, the apartment buildings with common debts for water of dwellers will no longer be disconnected from the supply of water as every dweller will be responsible for fully paying their bills on time. The problem of payment of differentiated volumes of water, as measured by the common meter of the block, will disappear.
