After the public transport stations and sidewalks in Chisinau were mudded by rain last week, employees of the General Public Amenities Division intervened to wash and sweep them, IPN reports.
The Division’s deputy head Gennady Dubița, in the ordinary meeting of officials of Chisinau services and divisions, said that 400 public transport stations were cleaned and the sidewalks were washed, primarily on the streets Decebal, Titulescu, Sarmisegetuza, Grădina Botanica in Botanica district, Vasile Alecsandri, Gagarin in Centru district and Albișoara and Petru Rareș in Râșcani district. The technical sidewalks were also cleaned.
Fifteen units of equipment and about 380 workers were involved in mechanized cleanup works last week. There were collected 151 trucks of waste, with over 800 garbage bins being emptied. A number of 560 household waste collection platforms were disinfected.
Grass was mowed in about 250 yards in the districts of Chisinau, primarily in places situated near apartment buildings, such as playgrounds and sidewalks, with 45 employees performing such works.
According to Gennady Dubița, the works to kill rats and insects in the city’s districts go on. Such works last week were carried out in the basements of 357 apartment buildings, with over 3,000 blocks being disinfected in two stages.
