The last night's storm left about 40 villages without electric power, and 8 villages – without phone connection. At the same time, lots of trees were brought down and their roots broken. According to the Exceptional Situations Department, the strong wind left without electric power many localities of Chisinau municipality, Floresti, Ungheni, Sangerei, Dubasari, Soldanesti raions. The railway station of the village Rogojeni, Soldanesti, also was left without electric power. At the same time, 5 villages of Floresti district and 3 of Sangerei district were left without phone connection. At the moment, operative groups of Electric Distribution Networs Nord, Nord-Vest, Union Fenosa Group and operator „Moldtelecom” work on repairing the damages. Sources from the Green Spaces Association of the capital announced that the strong wind has damaged many trees and bushes, especially in districts Buiucani and Rascani. At the moment the damages are not fully estimated. The head of the Forecast Service, Lidia Trescilo, reported that last night the intensity of the wind was up to 18 meters per second, and the precipitation amount got, in certain villages, to 25 millimeters/square meter.
