Approximately 3,000 police officers will be involved in maintaining public order on Easter night. Chief of the National Patrolling Inspectorate Livii Baziuc told a news conference that the police checked 1,370 churches and other religious buildings, IPN reports.
The parking places near the Metropolitan Cathedral “God’s Birth” remained the same as last year: in the perimeter of the streets Columna, Pushkin, Banulescu Bodoni etc. Those who will take part in the service at the Monastery “St. Teodor Tiron” will be able to park their vehicles in the square of the Academy of Sciences and on Ismail St.
The police recommend those who leave home on holidays to make sure that the door is locked and to inform neighbors that they will be absent. The cars should be parked overnight only in lit places.
Marin Maxian, head of the Public Security Division of the General Police Inspectorate, told the same news conference that during the Easter holidays last year the police received 89 complaints about thefts from cars and homes.
Those who go to cultural events in the evening are recommended to avoid dark alleys and persons with deviant behavior. Thirteen cases of hooliganism in public places were reported last year during the Easter holidays. In nine cases the persons were inebriated.
The parents are urged to be attentive to children during the Easter vacation. A number of 61 cases of violence against children were reported last year
