About 3,000 police officers to maintain public order on Low Sunday

Approximately 3,000 police officers will maintain public order all over the country on Low Sunday. Patrolling teams today and tomorrow focus on the fluidization of traffic, especially at the entrance and exit of Chisinau. These will do the same in the afternoon of April 16, when all those who will leave will return home in the capital city, IPN reports.

Pavel Apostol, senior specialist of the Common Road Traffic Monitoring and Control Center, in a news conference said the drivers are urged not to speed and not to drive under the influence of alcohol and to comply with the requests of patrol inspectors so as to avoid unpleasant situations.

Daniela Buzatu, head of the Prevention Section of the General Public Security Division of the General Police Inspectorate, warned that the number of cases of apartment thefts and pickpocketing increases during the holidays. The wrongdoers profit from the non-attention and negligence of citizens.

The police recommend those who leave home to lock all the doors and to close the windows and not to tell other persons about their departure. The people should also be careful in crowded places and should not leave valuable things in sight in cars.

The population is urged to avoid persons with antisocial behavior and the groups that consume alcoholic drinks. In case of conflicts or acts of violence, they should call 112.

The parents are asked not to leave the children unsupervised, while the elder children should be taught not to open the door to foreigners if they remain home alone.
