The students who tested positive for COVID-19 currently number 247, while the students who self-isolate total 8,672. As many as 265 teachers have been confirmed with the novel coronavirus, while the self-isolating teachers come to 457, show data of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research that is quoted by IPN.
Fifty members of the ancillary personnel also got infected, with another 95 being in quarantine. Of the 1,240 public and private general education institutions that work, 15 use distance learning, as 291 classes do.
In technical vocational education institutions, 14 students, 19 teachers and eight members of the non-teaching and auxiliary personnel got infected the past week. Also, 17 groups of students are self-isolating.
In higher education, 35 students and 20 teachers tested positive for COVID-19 during September 21-27, with 61 students being in quarantine. Nineteen teachers are also self-isolating. Even persons of the non-teaching and auxiliary personnel also became infected, with another either ancillary workers being in quarantine.
Minister of Education, Culture and Research Igor Sharov said the new modifications concerning the reconfiguring of classes in education institutions enable the institutions to reorganize the school areas so as to allow a larger number of students to attend school physically. The given actions do not represent relaxation of the measures to prevent infection with the novel coronavirus in education institutions, but are rather aimed at increasing the persons’ responsibility.
