Approximately 2.5 of used water pipes in Chisinau will be replaced with polyethylene pipes by the end of this year, IPN has learned from the water supplier.
According to “Apă-Canal Chisinau”, in Botanica district pipe rehabilitation works are performed on Independenței St and Traian Blvd.
In Centru district, the works to replace the water pipeline near the kindergarten situated at 40 Ipate Soroceanu St are close to an end. About 250 meters of polyethylene pipes with the diameter of 63 to 110 mm were laid there.
In Râşcani district, the works only started. About 560 meters of polyethylene pipes with the diameter of 63 to 225 mm will be replaced there.
Sewer pipes are now rehabilitated on the section between the streets Ion Pruncul, Sfântul Andrei and Sfatul Țării.
The works are executed as part of the program to rehabilitate 190 km of water pipes and 7 km of sewer pipes that is financed with the EIB and EBRD loans and with the investment grant provided by the Neighborhood Investment Facility of the EU.
