Approximately 2,000 veterans of the Afghan war and the Nistru war have come together in front of the Palace of the Republic to support the election of the President, Info-Prim Neo reports. The veterans carry flags of the European Union and placards with the words: “We are for Moldova’s integration into the EU”, “We are for European integration”. The crowd in front of the Palace of the Republic is listening to the live broadcast of the special sitting of Parliament. There are demonstrators all over the perimeter of the Palace of the Republic and the police formed a protection fence around the Palace in order to ensure the smooth running of the presidential elections.
