After the protest mounted in Chisinau on January 24, about 20 protesters were taken to the Center for Homeless Persons located on Haltei St. The Chisinau mayor’s adviser on relations with the police Iurie Cuculescu Monday said the given protesters were under the influence of alcohol, IPN reports.
Iurie Cuculescu said the persons were taken to the Center by the police. These were aged between 20 and 50 and were from different districts of the country. They said they failed to reach the terminal on time to take the buses or minibuses home.
The adviser said several of these persons, being inebriated, attacked an employee of the Center and the police had to intervene to calm things down.
Iurie Cuculescu called on the protest organizers to take care of the persons they mobilize at demonstrations as many of these remain on the street when the protests are over.
