Approximately 16 kilograms of drugs were detected by customs officers at the Chisinau International Airport. According to experts, ecstasy pills with a black-market value of over 50 million lei could have been made from the given quantity of pure drugs, IPN reports.
A 32-year-old citizen of Israel arrived in Moldova by an Amsterdam-Chisinau flight. At the customs post, he said he had nothing to declare. However, acting on the basis of risk analysis indicators, customs officers ordered to check the man’s luggage. As a result, three sealed “animal food” boxes with pure drugs inside them were found.
The suspect was detained and was later arrested for 30 days based on a warrant issued by the Chisinau Court.
Searches were conducted in Chisinau at persons who are suspected of having connection with this case. Information carrying devices and drafts were seized during them. Investigations into the case go on.
