About 1,400 Moldovan Romanians vote in European elections in Chisinau

1,409 Romanian citizens from Moldova voted on June 7 in Chisinau at the elections for the European Parliament. 1,396 ballots were declared as valid, Info-Prim Neo has learnt from sources from the Romanian embassy to Moldova. 56.95% of the Chisinau voters cast their ballots for PD-L, 10.74% – for PNL, The PSD + PC alliance got 3.94%, and PRM – 3.51%. Elena Basescu got 23.57% of the votes. The other parties gained less than 1 per cent. According to partial results, issued by the Romanian Central Election Bureau, the rankings are as follows: PSD+PC – 30.82% of the votes, PD-L -- 29.75%, PNL -- 14.53%, UDMR -- 9.07%, PRM -- 8.68%, PNTCD -- 1.46% and the Civic Force -- 0.40%. The independent candidates Elena Basescu and Pavel Abraham gained 4.22% and 1.02%, respectively. 27.52% of the Romanian voters attended the poll on last Sunday to elect Romania's 33 MEPs.
