Approximately 13,000 trees and bushes were planted in the municipality of Chisinau on an area of about 7 hectares as part of the event “Planting good deeds in Chisinau” on March 30. In the April 1 meeting of officials of Chisinau services and divisions, Ion Burdiumov, head of the General Public Amenities Division, said the event involved over 1,300 persons – representatives of district head’s offices, municipal divisions and business entities and also volunteers, IPN reports.

According to Ion Burdiumov, nearly 2,600 trees were planted on Milescu Spătaru St on an area of about 2 hectares. About 10,000 trees and bushes were planted in the second region, at 205 Uzinelor St, near the Municipal Animal Sterilization Center, on an area of 5 hectares.

“A very nice thing was done. I urge those who want to be near us and the City Hall to help us further,” stated the official. He noted that another about 1,000 trees were planted in yards of municipal education institutions as part of the same event.

The event “Planting good deeds in Chisinau” is the second of the four events planned to be held as part of the general spring cleanup campaign of March 4 – April 26 with the involvement of the community. On April 13, there will be staged the general park cleanup event, while on April 20 – the general cleanup in yards of apartment buildings.
