Approximately 1,000 conscript soldiers of the National Army will be allowed to celebrate Easter at home, during May 4-7, while another 1,000 will go home on Low Sunday, for the period between  May 11 and 14, IPN reports.

Contacted by IPN, the head of the Defense Ministry’s press service Ala Diaconu said the soldiers who will remain in military units will enjoy a special meal on Easter, with red eggs, Easter bread and cakes, and candies. They will also take part in services held in the churches situated near their military units. Only the soldiers with exemplary military discipline will go on leave.

According to the Ministry of Defense, about 600 young men were drafted into the army between April 16 and 17. About 1,200 young people will be called up during April – July.
