About 100 companies to take part in Black Sea Letex exhibit
Approximately 100 companies from Moldova, Russia, Ukraine and Turkey have confirmed their participation in the tenth exhibition Black Sea Letex. Teodor Tkachenko, acting head of the international exhibitions center Moldexpo, told a news conference on Monday that the exhibit aims to develop the national market of modern goods and the interbranch market by strengthening cooperation between the related industries, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Deputy Minister of Economy Octavian Calmac said the light industry, which includes about 300 companies, accounts for an important share in the industrial output of the country.
“The companies of the light industry have been seriously affected by the financial crisis. Many of the contracts signed by them have been interrupted. Now they are being renewed and new contracts are being signed. Industrial production in nine months was 1.1 billion lei, up 21.3% from 2009. Exports to the EU and the CIS have increased. New brands have been launched that become popular in Moldova and abroad. The exhibit represents an occasion for promoting these brands,” said the deputy minister.
Equipment and raw material for the light industry, ready-made clothes, special clothes, automated fabric cutting systems and other goods will be on display at the exhibition.
The exhibit includes the Artpodium Fashion Days and the Contest of Young Fashion Designers, which are organized by the cultural foundation Artpodium.
The event will take place at Moldexpo during November 18-21.
