About 10 thousand Moldovan tourists from Moldova, Russia, Ukraine and Belarus will come to celebrate the old style New Year in the Romanian mountain resorts, Info-Prim Neo reports, citing the Romanian press. According to the Romanian National Association of Tourism Agencies, the tourists will pay half the price for the provided services because the hotel or boarding house owners cheapened the tariffs for accommodation, after the spectacular price increases on the New Year. A room in a boarding house costs RON 50-120 or MDL 250-650 depending on the category of the boarding house. The prices in hotels have also gone down. For example, at a three-star hotel in Predeal, for a double apartment, the tourists will pay RON 150 or MDL 750 per night compared with RON 180 at the beginning of the year. Also, it is foreseen that the number of tourists coming from the East will diminish in light of the compulsory visas for Moldovan citizens, after Romania joined the EU.
