The orphan children from the Chisinau municipality, who will go into the first grade this year, have been invited to the City Hall, where they received rucksacks and school supplies, as well as a one-time allowance of 3,000 lei for buying everything they need for school. Such actions take place every year, and are supposed to help children and stir their interest towards studying, reports Info-Prim Neo. According to Svetlana Chifa, head of Children’s Rights Protection Department, along with the school supplies, the children also received their first ABC books and a bell each. “In order to make the event unforgettable for the future school children, the Municipal division, in collaboration with the Chisinau International Airport, prepared a surprise for them; the children and their guardians will have the possibility to take their lunch on board a plane, serviced by the flight attendants”, stated Svetlana Chifa. Previously, during the August 13 City Hall meeting, it had been announced that the orphan children would have the unique opportunity to fly around Chisinau aboard the same plane. The surprise, however, failed due to a technical problem, leaving the little ones only with the lunch on board. The special guest of the City Hall meeting, Valentina Buliga, Minister of Labor, Social Protection and Family, said that such events are welcome, and that the central administration would like to set the foundation of a partnership in this field with the local administration, in order to unite their efforts into supporting orphan children. Almost 8,000 kids from families with low incomes, from Chisinau, will receive the one-time financial aid of 600 lei, at the beginning of the school year. Their parents can already receive the money from any branch of Banca de Economii, upon presenting their ID.
