AAC: None of Moldovan carriers is flying in Afghan airspace

None of the Moldovan passenger airlines is currently flying in the airspace of Afghanistan, and the planes that were hired to operate in Afghanistan have left the country with the exception of one, reports the Civil Aviation Authority (AAC).

There are four Moldovan nationals among the crew of the remaining plane. The crew is expecting instructions from the contracting party, a UN subdivision, before the plane can leave Afghanistan.

On Sunday, Taliban forces took the Afghan capital Kabul, the last major city to fall. Thousands of Afghans mobbed the Kabul airport, the only gateway into and out of the country still under American control, in an attempt to flee.
