The Chisinau inhabitants will have the possibility to take cognizance of the General Urban Plan through the agency of a web page created by the Mayoralty, declared at the end of the week within the first meeting of the Strategic committee for Sustainable development of Chisinau municipality, Nicolae Craciun, the secretary of the committee and interim chairman of the Land Department. According to Craciun, quoted by Info-Prim Neo, the elaborated materials will be presented on the web page and the citizens will have the possibility to analyze and make suggestions. This method of collaboration between the Mayoralty and society comes after the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) approved the creation of the Strategic Committee which includes local authorities, representatives of the business area and of the civil society. The committee will participate to the elaboration of GUP Craciun stated once more about the importance of the fact the civil society will participate to the elaboration of GUP. The secretary said that the legislation in force stipulates the consultation of urban documentation with society and this practice works for a long time already in civilized countries. GUP is elaborated by the National Institute for Research and Designing of the Territory, Urbanism and Architecture “Urban-proiect” starting with the last autumn. Finishing the elaboration of the project is planed at the beginning of 2007.
