A Rainbow over Childhood
The civil society alongside children, teenagers and volunteers involved in community activities are invited to participate on Saturday, May 31, in an event devoted to the International Children’s Day. The event themed “The Rainbow of Childhood” aims to promote the observance of children’s rights, to encourage solidarity between the youth and the adults, as well as to raise public awareness of the problems of Moldova’s children, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The event is also meant to encourage building of social alliances in solving children’s problems. The organizers come with the message that community-based actions should contribute to developing the capacity and knowledge needed to accept and tolerate each member of the society, notably children, regardless of their physical condition or social rank.
The Rainbow of Childhood will be held in the spirit of the National Plan of Community Action and Strategy for the support of children in need and has the goal to offer opportunities for developing solidarity between children and adults through community-based activities.
The organizer of the event is the Ministry of Social Protection, Family and Child, in Partnership of the Moldovan Children’s High Level Group, local and central authorities, international organizations and the civil society.
The program includes art, music, theatre, dance, picture and handiwork. The Rainbow of Childhood will start at 10:30 at the Republic Palace.
