A parliamentarian required dismissal of the interim mayor and those 2 deputy mayors of municipality Chisinau
Christian-Democrat deputy Gheorghe Susarenco required on Thursday, 2 March, in the parliament’s meeting to dismiss Vasile Ursu as interim mayor and of those two deputy mayors elected recently, Fiodor Negru and Petru Svet. In deputy’s opinion, they have this position illegally.
In the appeal addressed today to the parliament, Susarenco said that according to legislation, the mayor can appoint an interim mayor, and if the latter one cannot comply with its duties, the local council has to appoint an interim mayor. In case of municipality Chisinau, ex-mayor Serafim Urechean appointed as interim mayor Mihai Furtuna, who refused this position. In these conditions, Vasile Ursu cannot be interim mayor and could not propose for deputy mayors’ positions Fiodor Negru and Petru Svet, Susarenco noted.
Ion Dodonu the head of the juridical department of Chisinau Municipal Council reported that those 3 persons occupy their positions legally and the legislation in force is not violated.
In 2005, there were organised 4 electoral scrutinises to elect the mayor of the municipality Chisinau, which were not validated because of weak presence of citizens in elections.
