The Ministry of Education, Culture and Research and the Chisinau City Hall signed a partnership agreement to open a number of youth centers in Chisinau. The first center will be inaugurated in Ciocana district on May 20. The Ministry covered the outfitting costs to the value of 110,000 lei, while the municipality will pay salaries to center’ employees, IPN reports.
In the signing ceremony, Minister of Education, Culture and Research Monica Babuc said the development of the youth sector and of the opportunities for the young people to take part in the social life is possible only by the concerted effort of the state institutions and the community.
Acting mayor of Chisinau Ruslan Codreanu said that youth centers work in three suburban communities of the capital city and the municipality aims to open such institutions in all the localities. He called on the young people to visit these centers as often as possible and expressed his confidence that they will benefit from the necessary services there.
The Ministry so far signed partnership agreements with 20 local public authorities for opening youth centers. The partnership is aimed at strengthening the institutional capacities for developing and extending the youth services territorially so as to increase the number of beneficiary young people and to create a safe space for them.
