A number of towns to receive financial support for urban revitalization

The Government of Poland will offer Moldova a grant of €200,000 for implementing pilot urban revitalization projects in six towns. Another eight towns will benefit from technical assistance in developing investment projects, IPN reports.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment, the six chosen towns are: Ocnita, Comrat, Cimislia, Ungheni, Balti and Edinet. Projects to improve the social inclusion of persons with special needs and to enhance the living conditions of citizens will be implemented here. To benefit from the planned financial resources, the applicants must meet a series of conditions imposed by technical experts by April 2.

The project supported by the Government of Poland, entitled “Support for the public administration of the Republic of Moldova in implementing regional policies by interacted and sustainable urban development for 2017-2019”, is carried out in all the development regions in several stages. The goal is to create an efficient urban development support system.

The participants in the project benefit from training seminars, fact-finding visits to Poland and counseling from Polish experts in developing a functional operational system for dynamic urban development and revitalization of towns.
