Eight streets in Chisinau have been closed to traffic owing to the snowfall. These are the sloping streets Ganea, Timis, Postei, Vadul lui Voda, Paris, Podul Inalt, Causeni and Uzinelor (bystreet), IPN reports.

According to the State Road Administration, at midday all the national roads were passable.

The General Inspectorate for Emergencies said rescuers intervened in the first half of the day to tow away four cars and a truck that got stuck in snowdrifts in Vulcanesti town and in Causeni district.

In the municipality of Chisinau, the citizens who experience difficulties in connection with the weather can call the Central Municipal Dispatcher’s Office on (022) 22-22-67 and (022) 22-26-04.

The citizens can also call the emergency services on 901, 902, 903 and (022) 785032.
