A series of projects to improve the appearance of the capital city were implemented in the course of 2022. There was installed modern recreational equipment. The General Housing and Amenities Division built playgrounds and fitness grounds in square and parks of Chisinau and some of these are intended also for persons with disabilities.
A fitness/workout ground for persons with disabilities was set up in “Dumitru Râșcanu” Park. Three playgrounds were also built there at the request of the Râșcani district head’s office as part of the project to modernize the park. The new playgrounds consist of slides, swings, figurines and other items.
Playgrounds and fitness grounds were also put up in squares on Decebal Blvd and Valea Crucii St. Playgrounds also appeared at 26 and 22 Mihail Sadoveanu St and in Vadul lui Vodă town.
The recreational areas in “Valea Trandafirilor” Park were rehabilitated. An old playground was replaced with a fitness ground. There was built a volleyball court with fences and paved access ways.
In the Park “La Izvor”, there were set up two beach volleyball courts with sand. Urban furniture and a fitness ground appeared in the square situated at 80/3 Albișoara St. Ten swings were placed on Grigore Vieru Alleyway in the capital city.
The works to rehabilitate the square of the Metropolitan Cathedral were launched in October. The two fountains and the protection wall were reconstructed.
A new basketball court was constructed at the Theoretical Lyceum “Dacia” located in Ciocana district of Chisinau. Automated irrigation systems for green spaces were put up in Chisinau’s in Ciocana and Buiucani districts.
A number of 41 modular platforms for gathering municipal waste became available in the districts of Chisinau. The given platforms are intended for approximately 60 apartment buildings in all the districts of the capital city.
Meanwhile, more mini-football pitches are being constructed in a number of locations in residential neighborhoods, including at 104/2 Doina St, 28 Mircea cel Bătrân Bd., 93 Alba Iulia St., 10 Sarmizegetusa St., and 326 Muncești St.
The municipality this year allocated 36 million lei for extensively repairing the stairs in 75 apartment buildings in the capital city.
Irina Boțu Responsabila, who is in charge of communication at the General Housing and Amenities Division, said that despite the faced challenges, the Division in 2022 managed to implement the projects needed by the citizens of Chisinau. The 2023 budget was already approved and this contains many other important initiatives. The Division will continue building playgrounds and sports grounds, repairing yards of apartment buildings and implementing other necessary projects.
