The municipality suggests increasing the parking fee by 2 lei and the fee for advertising devices by 0.50 lei. The sanitation charge in the amount of 10 lei per month and the fee for dog owners in the amount of 120 lei annually will remain unchanged. This is provided in a draft decision on local taxes for 2024, which was proposed for public consultations, IPN reports.

Thus, the parking fee for this year is likely to be increased from 33 to 35 lei per square meter. In the case of advertising devices, the increase will be from 815 to 865 lei. At the same time, the ad placement fee will rise from 1,940 to 2,050 lei.

The fee for landscaping will increase by 11 lei, from 174 to 185 lei. For the application of local symbols, a fee of 1,090 lei will be paid, compared to 980 lei at present.

The tax rates for the provision of road passenger transport services on municipal minibus routes will be maintained at the level of 2020. The municipality argued that this sector should be supported given the current critical situation in transportation on municipal minibus routes.

Also, for each unit of transport, for the provision of taxi passenger transport services on the territory of Chisinau municipality, the monthly tax rate will be 400 lei, up 30 lei compared to the rate for 2023, when this was 370 lei.

The draft decision proposes market tax rates in the amount of:  -

17 lei annually per square meter for car markets located on the outskirts of the city, with a short work regime of 1-3 days;

- 21 lei annually per square meter for “second-hand” markets;

- 56 lei annually per square meter for food, agricultural, nonfood and mixed markets;

- 80 lei annually per square meter for car markets located on the territory of the city with short work regime of 1-3 days;

- 82 lei annually per square meter for flower markets working nonstop;

- 96 lei annually for each square meter for car markets located in the territory of the city, with work regime of 6-7 days;

- 970 lei annually per square meter for flower markets located in culture and recreation parks working nonstop.

The time limit for the public consultation of the draft decision on the approval and implementation of local taxes for 2024 is January 19, 2024.
