A number of electoral offices in Chisinau cannot start work
Several electoral offices in Chisinau cannot start work because a part of the delegated members do not come to work, Valeriu Didencu, the secretary of the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC), said at Monday’s meeting of the City Hall, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to Didencu, the CMC is to meet on Thursday, March 26, to designate new persons. A relevant decision has been already drafted.
The CMC secretary said that in Botanica district changes are needed in 10 electoral offices, in Buiucani – in 33 offices, in Centru – in 9 offices, in Ciocana – in 23 offices, while in Rascani – in 12 offices.
A number of 293 poling places will work overall. Nine out of these will be opened for the first time. 239 are located in the districts of Chisinau, while 54 in the suburbs.
The composition of the electoral offices was approved on March 20 after long debates. The Opposition boycotted the meeting. The councilors were dissatisfied with the fact that the majority demanded that the lists of persons with right of deliberative vote that form part of the electoral offices be modified and said the move is aimed at rigging the April 5 legislative elections in Chisinau.
