A new fake in the public space. Police: messages aimed to cause panic

The National Police warns that a message is circulating in the public space in which people claiming to be employees of state institutions are allegedly breaking into people's homes and collecting personal data, then robbing them. In a press release quoted by IPN, the General Inspectorate of Police states that no such case has been registered in the country and the police have not been notified by any citizen who has been visited by such a person.

According to the IGP, these messages are meant to cause panic among citizens. "The police communicate publicly about any phenomenon that is dangerous for society, as in the case of the 'relative involved in accident' scam, precisely to calm and correctly inform citizens", the statement issued by the General Inspectorate of Police said.

Citizens who have information useful to the police on this subject are urged to communicate it to any inspector or to the single number 112.
