A minibus registered in the Republic of Moldova caught fire after colliding with a car on the DN 24 highway between Sculeni and Iasi in Romania. The press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) told IPN that two Moldovan citizens suffered minor injuries, one of them was taken to hospital.
The collision between a Moldovan-registered minibus and a Romanian car took place on Sunday near the localities of Vulturi and Popricani. The minibus caught fire and the six Moldovan passengers were evacuated.
"Two people suffered minor injuries, one was treated on the spot and another person was transported to the emergency hospital in Iasi. The other passengers in the Moldovan minibus continued their journey in another minibus coming from the back," the MFA said.
One passenger from the Romanian car was taken to hospital. Romanian police are investigating the causes of the accident.
At the same time, the Consulate General in Iasi is in contact with the hospital, the victims and the local authorities, providing all necessary assistance to Moldovan citizens affected by the incident.
