A man burned alive in Rujnita. An electric cable may have caused the fire

A 77-year-old man burned to death in his own house on Tuesday morning in the village of Rujnita, Ocnita district. A heavy fire broke out in the house due to a faulty electric radiator cable, the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations reports, IPN reports.

The call to 112 was received at 08:42. Two fire crews were on the scene and managed to extinguish the fire at 09:21. The partially charred body of the owner of the house was found inside.

IGSU advises the population to properly use electrical heating appliances to avoid fires. According to specialists, installations should be checked regularly and disconnected at night or when the house is unattended.

There have been 186 fires since the start of this year, 13 of which have resulted in fatalities.
