A group of Moldovan journalists left for professional trainings in Romania
A group of 10 journalists from local and national mass-media institutions have left for trainings in Romanian newspapers, news agencies, radio and TV stations. These were selected by the Association of Independent Press (API) within a contest open to all journalists in Moldova.
The trainings in Romania are open to journalists from the TV stations “TV 7” and “Sor TV” (Soroca), radio stations “Free Europe” and “Retro FM”, Deca-press agency, “Business Class” magazine, newspapers “Timpul de dimineata”, “Flux”, “Cuvintul” (Rezina) and “Business info” (Cimislia). For a week, the Moldovan journalists will work together with colleagues from Bucharest (“Europa FM”, “Rompres”, “Romania Libera”, “Evenimentul Zilei”, “Capital”, “Antena 1”), from Iasi (“TVR Iasi”), Neamt (“Monitorul de Neamt”), Suceava (“Monitorul de Suceava”) and Prahova (“Ploiestii”). The Moldovan journalists are expected to edit and publish news, articles and reports, as well as to get familiarised with the topic of Moldovan-Romanian cooperation in various fields.
The training is taking place during September 24-30 2007 as a part of the project “New dimensions for collaboration between the journalist in Moldova and Romania”, implemented by API with the financial support of the Department for Relations between the Romanians from Everywhere (DRRP) of the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Within the frameworks of the same project, a group of directors from the local newspapers in Moldova will pay study trips to Romanian districts in order to learn about press management. This year, another two fact-finding visits will be organised for Romanian journalists in Moldova. Within the project, API also edits the on-line Moldovan-Romanian newspaper www.md-ro.org and runs a national contest of articles/reports on the topic of Moldovan-Romanian cooperation.
Through this project, API intends to create favourable conditions for diversifying and improving the cooperation between the journalists on the both banks of the Prut River.
