A dysentery focus at a preschool education institution from the capital caused the hospitalization of 12 children

Eight of those 12 children, hospitalized at the end of last week in the Municipal Clinical Hospital of Infectious diseases for children and in “Toma Ciorba” Hospital, as a result of a dysentery focus produced at the Center of Child and Family Education (CCEF) situated on the Maria Cibotari str., are still hospitalized. Solicited by Info-Prim Neo, the chief-doctor of the Municipal centre of preventive medicine (CMMP), Victor Panzaru, mentioned that, on Monday morning, a commission visited the place in order to investigate the situation. It will take up to 5 days for operating lab tests. Still, preliminary results could be reported on Tuesday. According to the cited source, the probable cause of dysentery is the cream cakes provided to children on the occasion of a birthday. Parents of 50 children were convinced to expose their children to bacteriological tests. Also, the cook of the institution is being investigated. The chief-doctor of CMMP mentioned as part of the Monday meeting of the city hall that CCEF department essayed, about three years ago, to hide a similar situation, without succeeding though. 90 children are currently attending the institution of preschool education from the Buicani district of the capital.
