Some of the localities, such as Copanca and Varnița, can be connected to the electricity grids of the Republic of Moldova, but using the infrastructure that is temporarily under the management of Tiraspol. In this regard, discussions are being held with the so-called authorities of the Transnistrian region. The information was confirmed by Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Oleg Serebrian, who participated in talks with the local public authorities of a number of localities in the Security Zone, IPN reports.
"For now, they avoid discussions, but we hope that these discussions will take place next week. We hope that we will also have 1+1 format talks, which I don't know how much can give, but we need rather a working group and openness. If there is no desire for cooperation, then it is more difficult," said Serebrian.
However, in the case of some localities, the situation can be more difficult, noted the Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration.
"Some of the localities are very difficult to connect to our networks. It will take 3-4 months. It goes to quite large investments, but also to long-term design and field works. There were also representatives of electricity and gas companies, who said that there are particular work protocols, which can be obstructed by the weather conditions. But we will do this work as soon as we can," said Oleg Serebrian.
According to the official, lists of assistance for the localities that need support have also been compiled.
Asked by journalists whose game Tiraspol is playing, the official said: "certainly not of the citizens."
"It is a dirty geopolitical game against the constitutional authorities of the Republic of Moldova, which is undoubtedly played by Moscow with the aim of destabilizing the situation in Moldova and in the region," said Oleg Serebrian.
