A council of EU could discuss possible start of negotiations on facilitating visa regime with Moldova
The meeting agenda of the EU Justice and Home Affairs Council, to assemble in Luxembourg on October 5-6, might include a consultation on future start of negotiations on simplifying visa regime with Moldova, is said in a press release of the Ministry of Administration and Internal Affairs of Romania, cited by Info-Prim Neo.
According to the cited source, this issue is also important for Romania, in light of the compulsory character of the entrance visas for Moldovan citizens according to the engagements taken in front of the European Union.
On his return from Brussels two weeks ago, Speaker of the Parliament declared that the Parliamentary delegation from Chisinau discussed about the initiation of negotiations on the visa facilitation agreement for Moldovan citizens. According to Marian Lupu, Moldova needs such an agreement and it obtained the support of the political groups to start negotiations on the issue by the end of this year.
