A Bible in verse republished in Chisinau as a source of wisdom and faith. Info-Prim Neo interview with the book’s publisher Maria Salaru

[- What does “The Divine Creation” represent and why do you think it is a ‘Bible in verse’?] - By versifying the biblical text, the author of “The Divine Creation” illustrates with plenty of details the four Gospels, which form the largest part of the book. In addition, there are quotes from prophets and the Acts of the Apostles, hymns praising the creation of God. The verses highlight the love to the Creator and the Christian Orthodox faith. This book is a biblical synthesis in verse which took the Christian poet Vasile Militaru more than 25 years of intense work. [- What made you republish the book in Chisinau?] - When I first took “The Divine Creation” in my hands I felt a strong inner force that moved me deeply. Knowing there’s a single copy of it in Moldova made me think it would be greatly unfair if I didn’t publish it. This thought haunted me for years until I finally decided that 2008 must be the year that this spark of spirit grew to become reality. [- How is the book structured and how does it differ from the Bible we know?] - There are seven books under a single cover. For example, the first book, “The Creation”, describes in a poetic form the events of the Old Testament, while the second and the third summarize the New Testament. There are also parables from Holy Scriptures. I must say the author followed the course of the canonical Bible, fact proven by specific references to the Bible. “The Divine Creation” differs from the canonical Bible only by its more accessible language, which can be more easily assimilated and understood by any reader, whereas the text of the canonical Bible uses a specific philosophic wording which makes it a little harder to read. [- Does the simplified choice of words somehow impair the intensity of the biblical words?] - Of course no. Here, each verse is full of Christian Orthodox faith, each line has a unique intensity that makes the reader feel closer to God. This has been confirmed by the Moldovan clergy as well, who praised the work. [- In how many copies was the book published and where can one find it?] - The book was published in 1,000 copies by the Chisinau-based Bons Offices, with the blessing of the Metropolitan Bishop of the Bessarabian Church Petru Paduraru. It can by found on the shelves of virtually all the bookstores in Chisinau. There are 5 copies at the National Library, and the national libraries from Washington, London and Bucharest each got one, too.
