Nicolae Todosa, a deputy in the First Parliament of the Republic of Moldova and one of the signatories of the Declaration of Independence on August 27, 1991, has passed away at the age of 89. The announcement was made today by the Mayor’s Office of Andrușul de Sus, the birthplace of the former deputy, and subsequently by the Speaker of the Parliament, Igor Grosu, reports IPN.
Speaker Igor Grosu has conveyed his condolences to the relatives and all those who knew him. “He spent his entire life fulfilling his duty to the country, and this remains the greatest pride of his life,” Igor Grosu wrote on social media.
“For the entire community, the departure of Nicolae Todosă is a painful loss. He was a man of the earth, of the village, a support and role model for those around him,” states the announcement from the Mayor’s Office of the village of Andrusul de Sus, Cahul district.
Contacted by IPN, Ion Hadarca, writer and deputy in the First Parliament, stated that Moldova has lost a great and generous man: “He was an outstanding colleague due to his open-heartedness and unshowy diligence. He carried out his mandate as a deputy with great honor and dignity.”
Nicolae Todosa was born on November 15, 1935, in the village of Andrușul de Jos, Cahul district. He was the author of the volumes “Valea Draga”, as well as other literary creations in prose and verse.
