The weather will grow colder the next days and there will be precipitation practically all over the country.

Tatiana Strugac, head of the State Hydrometeorology Service’s Weather Forecasts Center, has told Info-Prim Neo that on Friday, January 21, the temperature will oscillate between 0 and 5 degrees Celsius during the day and minus 2 – plus 3 degrees Celsius at night. There will be rain and sleet in some part of the country.

The temperatures on January 22 and 23 will continue to decrease. On Saturday, the thermometers will show minus 3 – plus 2 degrees Celsius during the day and around 0 degrees Celsius at night. On Sunday, the temperatures will fall to minus 7 degrees Celsius during the night.

On the weekend, there will be heavy precipitation – rain in southern Moldova and sleet in the north.



The President of the Audiovisual Council, Liliana Vitu, has announced her resignation. The announcement was made on Monday, through a message published on social networks. The head of the CA says that the decision is related to a change in her professional life, without providing other details, IPN reports.

“In connection with an anticipated change in my professional life, I have today submitted my resignation from the position of president of the Audiovisual Council. I thank my colleagues for their support and the effort made in the almost 5 years, so that the mission of the national regulatory authority, namely to serve the public interest and protect the country’s information space, is achieved”, mentioned Liliana Vitu.

Liliana Vitu was officially appointed as a member of the Audiovisual Council by Parliament on December 3, 2021, for a six-year term.

The state enterprise Moldova Railway registered a net loss of nearly 90 million lei in 2025, according to financial data published by the Public Property Agency. Although the result remains negative, the loss is almost four times smaller compared to 2024, when the company reported a deficit of over 322 million lei, IPN reports.

In 2025, CFM achieved sales revenues of 700.6 million lei, an increase from 635.1 million lei in the previous year. However, the expenses related to the activity exceeded the revenues, reaching 769.9 million lei.

The financial situation of the company has improved compared to the years 2023-2024. In 2023, CFM recorded losses of 143.9 million lei, and in 2024 the negative result reached 322.6 million lei. The only recent year in which the company reported a profit was 2022, with a positive result of 62.1 million lei.

At the end of last year, CFM had a share capital of over 3.2 billion lei, with the state fully owning the company. The net assets were valued at approximately 2.9 billion lei, and long-term debts exceeded 1.1 billion lei. The company had 3,816 employees, over 1,100 fewer than in 2023.

The financial indicators show a negative profitability of the company in 2025: -3.09% for equity and -9.89% for sales revenues. At the same time, the overall solvency rate was 2.76, and the current liquidity – 3.35, indicating the enterprise’s ability to cover its short-term obligations.
