The National Public Broadcaster “Teleradio-Moldova (TRM) has launched a structural-institutional reform, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the company.
Recently, the Supervisory Board examined the reform implementation program and approved the first structural changes. At the first stage of the reform in March-May, there will be created a number of new departments and services – Multimedia, Strategic Development, PR and Communication at TRM, and Radio Moldova News, Radio Moldova Youth, Recording and Musical Bands Department of Radio Moldova, News and Debates, Production, Programming and Planning, TV Acquisitions at TV Moldova 1. Some of them will gradually substitute the old subdivisions.
The TV News Department will be transformed into the News and Debates Department. The editorial activity is separated from the production activity by the inclusion of new posts of editor and producer. This department will take in the team that produces debate programs and the Sport Radio-TV Division. The department was outfitted with new software and equipment purchased within an assistance project of the Open Society Institute, administered by UNDP Moldova. The first phase of the project closed recently with the donation of four video cameras.
The Multimedia Department will publish multimedia and audiovisual products on the company’s website, the Sport Division of the News and Debates Department will supply Radio Moldova and TV Moldova 1 with news, while the local correspondents of the Radio News Editorial Office will collect information for Radio Moldova, TV Moldova 1 and the Multimedia Department. The local correspondents are trained and equipped as part of the project of the Open Society Institute.
The company’s administration says that changes to the other radio and TV departments will be made in the next reformation stage planned for May-July.
