The Ministry of Education and Research announces the expansion of the national program “Read me 100 stories”, intended to foster a love for reading among preschool and young school-aged children. The new stage of the program will reach even rural communities and educational institutions with limited resources, reports IPN.

According to the authorities, the expansion involves adding 47 new titles to the program. Thus, a set of 56,400 volumes will be distributed to 1,200 kindergartens across the country. Also, as part of the program, professional training sessions for educators will be held.

MEC asserts that the program already has visible results, thus the children who have participated in the previous stages have a rich vocabulary and achieve academic performance.

“Promoting reading among children is important for their future performance”, mentioned the Minister of Education, Dan Perciun.

The “Read me 100 stories” program was launched in 2024, promoting reading aloud in families and kindergartens, with objectives aimed at the cognitive, emotional, and social development of children, through access to quality literature.

BRM EST Moldova launches the platform for the purchase of electric energy

Non-domestic consumers in the Republic of Moldova will be able to purchase electricity through an electronic platform launched by the Romanian Commodity Exchange EST Moldova. According to the entity, the new mechanism allows licensed suppliers to participate in procurement procedures in a competitive and transparent framework, reports IPN.

The platform, called the Electric Energy Ring within the available market (Retail), aims to facilitate the meeting of demand with supply, through clear rules and equal treatment for participants. The Ministry of Energy specifies that the mechanism will contribute to the implementation of more efficient and transparent procurement procedures.

According to BRM EST, similar platforms have been used for over two decades in several European Union states, and the new tool responds to the requests of consumers from the Republic of Moldova.

Currently, BRM EST is the only functional commodity exchange in the Republic of Moldova and manages electronic platforms for trading natural gas, petroleum products, construction materials, and other fungible goods.
