The Straseni district organization of the Democratic Party of Moldova (PDM) expanded after 700 new members joined. Party cards were handed by PDM leader Marian Lupu during a festivity, Info-Prim Neo learned from a PDM press release.

Party members from all 27 localities of Straseni district, MPs, the party secretary, leaders of PDM district organizations and other guests attended the event.

Pavel Filip, head of PDM Chisinau municipal organization and Minister of Information and Communication Technologies, stressed that the party wanted a growth not in quantity, but in quality.

PDM leader Marian Lupu greeted the new members and said that Straseni offered a true example of the party’s growth in quality.

Marian Lupu added that the election of the head of the state put an end to times of uncertainty. “Now, we have 3 years to focus our efforts on solving the problems of the country, fulfilling our commitments- to attract investments, to create an attractive environment for business development, creating new jobs, stopping migrations, improving the healthcare and education systems”, said the PDM leaders.

At the end of last week, 600 new members joined PDM’s Calarasi district organization. At the festivity organized on that occasion, the deputy leader announced that the party’s goal is to become the biggest and most influential party in the next 3 years.

Dan Perciun: The Restart Reform does not affect the mandates of school directors appointed through competition

School directors appointed through competition will exercise their functions until the expiration of their five-year terms, even if, following the “Restart in Education” reform, the responsibility for their appointment and evaluation will return to the new Territorial Agencies for Education (ATE). The clarification was made by the Minister of Education and Research, Dan Perciun, in the plenary of the Parliament, during the presentation of the reform project, reports IPN.

“They will not have to immediately go through a new competition with the change of the founder. The directors continue their activity based on the previous competition until the expiration of the five years they can hold in office”, said the minister.

After the end of the mandates, competitions for director positions will be organized in the new system, which aims, according to the minister, to increase competitiveness. Dan Perciun mentioned that, currently, about 80% of the competitions for director positions have only one candidate, a situation which, in his opinion, raises questions about confidence in the process.

“What does the participation of a single person speak about? It speaks about the lack of confidence in the process and about the fear of school competitors to participate, due to the possible repercussions that might exist if they do not win”, stated Dan Perciun.

The “Restart in Education” reform stipulates the transfer of responsibility for the selection, appointment, and evaluation of school directors from the regional and municipal councils to the Territorial Education Agencies, structures subordinate to the Ministry of Education and Research.

The municipal authorities will create reserves of potable and technical water and will install, if necessary, distribution points in the sectors of the capital. At the same time, the fuel stocks for public transport, machinery, special vehicles, generators and critical infrastructure will be checked. The measures were approved by the Commission for Exceptional Situations of the municipality of Chisinau in the context of the hydrological and energy alert status established at the national level, reports IPN.

To ensure water reserves, the municipality may purchase tanks, cisterns and IBC containers. Educational, medical and social institutions will be evaluated to determine the water needs, and the authorities may negotiate with economic operators to supplement deliveries, if necessary.

In every sector of the capital, working groups will be created, coordinated by prefects, who will monitor available stocks, intervention capacities and the needs of institutions in the territory.

According to the committee’s decision, SA Apa-Canal Chisinau will continuously monitor the hydrological situation and the operation of the water supply system. The procurement of water, fuel, generators and other necessary equipment will be carried out as a priority, within the limits of the approved budget allocations.
