The Triumphal Arch of Chisinau and the associated land are set to be officially registered as public property of the state and transferred under the administration of the Ministry of Culture. The measure is stipulated in a draft resolution prepared by the Government and subjected to public consultations, reports IPN.

The project envisages the completion of the list of state-owned immovable property with the Triumphal Arch construction, located on Stefan cel Mare si Sfant Boulevard in the city of Chisinau.

Also, the land pertaining to the monument, under the administration of the Public Property Agency, is set to be included in the list of state public property lands and transferred to the management of the Ministry of Culture.

The initiative comes after several disagreements between the Ministry of Culture and the Chisinau City Hall regarding the legal status and administration of the monument, a situation that has delayed the launch of restoration works. The Ministry maintains that the failure to register the Triumphal Arch as a separate real estate asset in the Cadastre has hindered the implementation of investments.

For the current year, the Ministry of Culture has allocated 5 million lei for the rehabilitation of the monument. Previously, the Chisinau City Hall stated that it was prepared to register and restore the Triumphal Arch from its own funds, in case the issue of legal status is not resolved.

The Arc de Triomphe has not undergone a major restoration for nearly 60 years.

Over 2.3 billion lei have been allocated for the payment of pensions and social benefits to beneficiaries who receive money through bank cards. The National House of Social Insurance specifies that the payments will be available after they are processed by the payment service providers through the governmental MPay system, reports IPN.

The funding targets pension beneficiaries, allowances for families with children, maternity allowances, for temporary incapacity for work and other social benefits.

Individuals who do not receive payments on their card can collect the money from postal offices throughout the country. CNAS warns that benefits paid through the post office must be collected within three months. Otherwise, the payment is suspended.

To resume suspended payments, beneficiaries must contact the territorial social insurance house at their place of residence and submit a request.
