Ana Revenco has announced her resignation from the position of Director of the Center for Strategic Communication and Counteracting Disinformation, an institution she has led since its establishment. She maintains that, at the end of her term, the Center is a functional institution, with a professional team and clear working mechanisms, reports IPN.

The former head of the Center states that she took over the leadership of the institution in 2023, in a context where the Republic of Moldova was facing an intensification of informational risks, and the main challenge was building the structure from scratch. During this period, the Center’s activity focused on monitoring risks, anticipating informational attacks, identifying vulnerabilities and coordinating the actions of responsible institutions.

Ana Revenco has led the Center for Strategic Communication and Counteracting Disinformation since December 2023, after being appointed by Parliament. Previously, she held the position of Minister of Internal Affairs.

In April 2025, a competition was organized for the position of director of the Center, but it ended without a winner being designated. The three candidates admitted to the interview – Iurie Gotisan, Artur Gurau and Andrei Fornea – did not obtain the necessary score from the committee, and Ana Revenco continued to exercise the interim of the position.

Following the legislative changes adopted in August 2025, the Center for Strategic Communication and Counteracting Disinformation has come under the jurisdiction of the Presidency. The new provisions establish that the director of the institution is appointed and dismissed directly by the head of state.
