Strong winds all over Moldova were forecast for February 24. Weather forecasters issued an orange code advisory for high winds. The northwestern wind is expected to intensify to 17-22 m/s, in parts to 23-25m/s, IPN reports.

According to the State Hydrometeorological Service, the advisory is valid for the period until 8pm and can be extended depending on the weather conditions.

Daytime temperature on February 24 will oscillate between +7 and +10 degrees Celsius, while nighttime temperatures between +1 and +4 degrees Celsius. Daytime temperatures the next few days are expected to rise to +15 degrees Celsius in southern Moldova.

The literary creation of authors originating from the Republic of Moldova, established and active abroad, is presented in an exhibition inaugurated in Chisinau during the Diaspora Days. The event brings together approximately 120 documents from the collections of the National Library of the Republic of Moldova, including volumes published both in Chisinau and in foreign publishing houses, reports IPN.

BNRM specifies that the phenomenon of intellectual migration has contributed, in recent decades, to the formation of a remarkable literary heritage, composed of works published in Romanian, but also in Italian, French or Spanish. These creations constitute a bridge between the country of origin and the communities in the diaspora, supporting intercultural dialogue and promoting the cultural values of the Republic of Moldova in the world.

Visitors of the National Library can discover, in the “Mihai Eminescu” hall, volumes from the “Moldavistica” collection, signed by authors such as Tatiana Tibuleac, Lilia Bicec-Zanardelli, Vasile Ernu and Iurie Cojocaru, alongside works of other Bessarabian writers settled abroad. The exhibition also features volumes from the series “Bessarabians in the world”, published by BNRM.

Meteorologists have issued a yellow heatwave warning for Tuesday. According to the forecast, the scorching weather will persist throughout the entire country, with maximum temperatures reaching +33 degrees Celsius and above, reports IPN.

The Authority for Meteorology and Environmental Monitoring announces that, over wide areas, the maximum temperatures will fluctuate between +33 and +35 degrees Celsius, and will occasionally reach +36 degrees. The institution specifies that the warning and the corresponding map can be updated depending on the evolution and intensity of the weather phenomena.

The heatwave at the beginning of August is caused by the intrusion of a warm air mass from northern Africa, which has led to a rise in temperatures across the entire country.

Under these conditions, the authorities recommend avoiding prolonged exposure to the sun and outdoor activities between 11:00 AM-06:00 PM, sufficient fluid intake, and limiting intense physical effort throughout the day.
