Fuel prices go down

In the recent period, the price of diesel fuel decreased by 3.34 lei, while the price of gasoline COR 95 – by 2.56 lei. For Thursday, the National Agency for Energy Regulation set a price ceiling for a liter of gasoline at 31.34 lei, down 0.35 lei, while for a liter of diesel fuel at 29.12 lei, down 0.24 lei, IPN reports.

The Agency noted the Platts quotations for gasoline and diesel fuel follow a downward trend. On July 12, they declined to about 1,151 $/tonne of gasoline and to 1,129 $/tonne of diesel fuel.

During the past 14 days that are used by the Agency to calculate the price ceilings, the quotations declined by 14.4 % for gasoline and by 9.8% for diesel fuel, the decrease being of about 193 $/tonne and 122.5 $/tonne respectively.

The fuel prices started to decline in July after they had grown constantly since last autumn. For comparison, a liter of gasoline COR 95 at the beginning of last September cost 20.23 lei, while a liter of diesel fuel –16.42 lei. The liquefied petroleum gas for which the National Agency for Energy Regulation does not set price ceilings today costs almost 17 lei/liter. In September 2021, a liter of liquefied petroleum gas was sold for about 13 lei.



The Diaspora Days 2026 begin on Monday, August 3, and will take place throughout August under the theme “Wherever we are, Moldova unites us!”. The program includes events for young people, professionals, leaders of diaspora associations, and citizens interested in getting involved in the country’s development, reports IPN.

The activities are organized by the Diaspora Relations Office within the State Chancellery, and some of these will take place in a hybrid format, to facilitate the participation of Moldovans settled abroad.

The first activity on the schedule is the inauguration of the exhibition “Bessarabian Authors in the World”, on August 3, at the National Library of the Republic of Moldova. On August 4, at the Government House, the event “Youth Talk: Young People Change the World” will take place, and on August 7, at the Palace of the Republic, the Diaspora Forum is scheduled – the central event of this year’s edition.

The Diaspora Forum will bring together citizens of the Republic of Moldova settled abroad, representatives of public authorities, development partners and leaders of diaspora communities. The discussions will focus on the involvement of the diaspora in the European integration process, strengthening communities outside the country and developing partnerships with their places of origin.

The program will continue on August 15 with the Diaspora Cup, organized at Dinamo Stadium. As part of the Diaspora Days, art and heritage exhibitions will also be organized, along with a fair of folk craftsmen and informational stands of public institutions and development partners.
