The Republic of Moldova and Hungary will organize a new round of inter-ministerial political consultations and the meeting of the Inter-Governmental Joint Commission for Economic Cooperation in the upcoming period. The subject was discussed during a phone call between Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Popșoi, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and the new head of Hungarian diplomacy, Anita Orbán, reports IPN.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, officials discussed strengthening Moldovan-Hungarian relations, the European agenda of the Republic of Moldova, and expanding bilateral cooperation in areas of common interest. Furthermore, Mihai Popsoi extended an invitation to Minister Orbán to make a working visit to the Republic of Moldova.
Another topic of discussion was the European path of the Republic of Moldova. The head of Moldovan diplomacy appreciated the support offered by Hungary in the accession process to the European Union. “The Republic of Moldova and Hungary have good relations, which we aim to strengthen through close collaboration, mutual trust, and the development of specific projects. We continue to rely on Hungary’s support in advancing our country’s European path,” declared Minister Popsoi.
The parties reaffirmed their interest in deepening political dialogue and developing economic and commercial cooperation between the two states.
