Romania is prepared to share with the Republic of Moldova the experience accumulated in the process of joining the European Union, stated the president of the Committee for European Affairs from the Romanian Senate, Rodica Cusnir. The message of support was launched during a press conference in Chisinau, alongside Mirela Furtună, vice president of the Committee for European Affairs from the Chamber of Deputies of Romania, and the president of the Parliamentary Committee for European Integration from Moldova, Marcel Spatari, reports IPN.
The officials also had a joint meeting, where they discussed Romania’s support for the accession process and the transfer of expertise in areas such as harmonization of legislation, environmental protection, financial services, regulation of the information space, and absorption of European funds.
Marcel Spatari emphasized that the parliamentary relations between Chisinau and Bucharest are close and that meetings between the profile commissions are frequent, intended to support the implementation of the national accession program.
At the same time, Mirela Furtuna reiterated that Romania remains the main supporter of Chisinau at the European level and will support the opening of negotiations on the six accession clusters as quickly as possible. The official mentioned that the objective of European integration by 2028 is ambitious, but realistic.
