The process of restoring electrical power is in an advanced stage, reports the Ministry of Energy. In the southern region of the country, all 110 kV power lines have been reconnected, and the 110 kV power stations and 10 kV feeders are fully restored, IPN reports.
In both the north and north-west of the country, all 110 kV power lines have been restored to operation. In the city of Chisinau, power supply to consumers has been partially resumed, with work continuing until full restoration of electricity.
Also, the power supply has been restored at all border crossing points.
The dispatch teams of Moldelectrica, including the National Dispatch, operate continuously and maintain direct contact with regional transport operators and local distributors to ensure the completion of the recharging process for all consumers, states the Ministry of Energy.
On the morning of January 31, several localities in the country, including most of the capital, were left without electricity due to problems in the Ukrainian power grid, which caused a voltage drop on the 400 kV Isaccea-Vulcanesti-MGRES line. The incident triggered the automatic protection system of the network and a partial blackout across the country.
