An almost 100-year-old man has been hospitalized for foot burns treatment after a home fire last night. Liliana Puscasu of the Fire & Rescue Dept. has told Info-Prim Neo that 99-year-old inhabitant of Basarabeasca town tried to heat his home using a stove in disregard of key safety rules. The fire broke out shortly before midnight. Neighbors rescued the elderly man and tried to put out the fire by themselves. The blaze destroyed the content of the room in which it broke out, but didn't bring heavy damage to the house. The victim sustained 1-3 degree burns of the lower limbs. The roof of the inn “Mariana”, located along the Balti-Straseni roadway, near Sangerei town, burned down for reasons unknown yet. The fire was extinguished by a Balti crew. An Audi-100 car parked on Independentei Street in the northern town of Soroca caught fire at around 2:00 in the morning. Firefighters managed to locate the epicenter before the fire destroyed the vehicle completely. The night before, the same happened to an Audi-80 in Chisinau. 46 fires have been recorded in Moldova since the beginning of May; 94 persons died in fires from the begging of the year.
