95% of votes counted: Dodon - 55%, Sandu – 45%

With 95% of the votes cast in the presidential runoff being counted, the Socialist candidate Igor Dodon polled over 55% of the vote, while the candidate of the Party “Action and Solidarity” Maia Sandu – almost 45%, IPN reports.

According to the CEC, Igor Dodon won 99% of the vote in Gagauzia, over 95% of the ballot in Taraclia district and most of the votes in Ocnita, Briceni and Balti.

Maia Sandu was supported mainly by the voters in Ialoveni, Cimislia and Orhei and by the Moldovans from the diaspora.
