After 95% of the vote reports from the national polling stations were counted, PAS leader Maia Sandu is shown to be leading with 52.07% of the ballot. Independent candidate Igor Dodon gained 47.93% of the vote, IPN reports, quoting the preliminary data of the CEC.
In the municipality of Chisinau, after counting 97% of the vote reports, the PAS leader is shown to be the winner with 59.54% of the ballot. Igor Dodon won 40.46% of the poll.
With 95.24% of the vote reports from the 42 polling stations established for Transnistrian voters being counted, the results stand as follows: Igor Dodon – 85.80%, while Maia Sandu – 14.20%.
With 52 vote reports from the 139 out-of country polling stations being counted, Maia Sandu is shown to have gained 76.96% of the poll, while Igor Dodon – 23.04%.
The voter turnout in the presidential runoff was almost 53%, which is 1.645 million voters. Voting over the ocean goes on. The last polling stations will close at 7am, Moldova’s time.
